Automatisme 2, a story of two new roommates.

From 2012 to 2014, Automatisme was a duo of electronic musicians William Jourdain and Yuri Mesko. The Automatisme 2 album was composed from march to may 2013, recorded and mixed the two months after that and released on July 24th 2013. The two new roommates built a studio in their apartment in the summer of 2013 in downtown Saint-Hyacinthe/Québec/Canada. That was their first year at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Jourdain was studying Art History and Mesko was in sociology. The two guys have continued to live together for many years after Yuri left the band for his studies. They maintained a rich music and human sciences sharing mood. Automatisme 2 was at a time of their discovery of Ableton Live and of field recording while pursuing analog and digital synthesizers experimentations. So, at that time, they were in a fundamental research mode in glitch and field recording musics by how to push at the extreme the hardware synthesizers manipulations with Ableton Live software and by questioning themselves on which sounds was surrounding their living place. Since 2014, Jourdain is continuing to experiment with sound art in solo in Automatisme. The collaborations with visual artists are from time to time with Patrick Foisy and Myriam Boucher. Originally, Automatisme 2 release was a 200 cd copies pressing that is now sold out for a couple of years. It's with a lot of nostalgia, thinking about all the coffee that we had drank together, that we are really proud and excited about that album being available again.

4- Deux Point Deux (Découpage) : Échantillonnage de plusieurs pistes audio issues de pièces différentes de l'album / Abstraction / Modification de « Field Recording » d'une rivière et du vent.
5- Mars 3 ( Déphasage ) : Decrescendo / Déphasage de deux mélodies par leur décalages progressifs / Modification de « Field Recording » d'une Scie mécanique.
6- Mai : Modification de « Field Recording » des sons de la ville (un parc, du vent, une voiture qui passe, une rivière) / Échantillonnage et abstraction de la pièce « Oximo » par Automatisme / Mélodies en Sol Locrien, ainsi qu'en Ré majeur et mineur.
